Summer Flowers

Some perennial flowers are still a bit behind after the colder-than-usual winter, but summer color is definitely here and more is on the way. Birds, bees, and hummingbirds are buzzing all around, doing their pollinating so I get tomatoes, squash, and beans. Unfortunately, the poison ivy was not deterred by the cold weather, and seems to be popping up everywhere, mixed in with other weeds and desired plants alike.

Fruits and Veggies

Before the critters get to them, the gardens look bountiful. I try to keep the deer, squirrels, birds, ducks, and rabbits out of my fruits and vegetables, but there is only so much one can do. Meanwhile, so far, so good for 2014.
